Alice Cooper at The Pavilion - Houston, Texas

Photos and Words by Richard Roesler

All the young girls love Alice, tender young Alice…, Yeah, Yeah I know that song is not sang by Alice Cooper or even about Alice Cooper!  I'm merely stating a fact, easily proven, if you happened to have been lucky enough to have taken in one of the shows.  And not just the young girls, but All Girls love Alice!  And the guys still like the kick ass rock and roll as well!

My hazy mind faintly recalls Alice playing in Houston back in the early 70s, pretty sure it was the Coliseum and vaguely remember giant spider webs?  And while the original line up lasted roughly 11 years, that means Alice Cooper been rockin for 50 years, give or take?  Heck I'm a few years younger and there is no way I could run around night after night like he does!

It is an amazing show, with plenty of talent up on the stage, Ryan Roxie, Chuck Garric, Tommy Henriksen and Glen Sobel.  They're just not as cute as the “Hurricane” Nite Strauss!  You might think there would be some issues with a band having not one, not two, but 3-lead/rhythem guitarists? But it is just balls to the wall, all out rock fest, with each and everyone of them having their own unique set of skills!

I would love the opportunity to photograph one entire show or maybe one show for each band member?  Yeah that sounds like a plan, maybe next year?

Till Next Time,

Richard Roesler
